Yesterdays trip to Hamsterly was eventful. Things were going well, managed to drop the chain on K-Line but quickly go going again. I did have a couple of 'moments'. Later, I managed to 'burp' the front tubeless and had a small deflation issue and associated 'non-crash' which was quickly resolved with more air. On a steep bit I did manage to gently forward roll down a hill over the bars due to braking too much. So far so good though and all part of the fun. Second trip down K-Line, given the moments earlier, I knocked some speed off. The net result was coming off a bump and having the rear knocked in the air and then the horrible feeling as the front, running on ground slowed faster than the rear and I overtook the front wheel. I then got personal with the gravel, oww. I think the blood told Paul I might not be entirely ok having scraped my jaw on the ground. Washed the wound out with the waterbottle and rode the rest of K-Line, Transmission, Accelerator and Nitros as if I've cycled up there, I might a well enjoy/use it. Back at the car, cleaning the mess didn't go so well on the car upholstery and I decided it best to end the day and get it seen to properly as there was some skin missing and the injury was deep. Looking at the evidence, I banged my head hard enough to mark the helmet, bruise my forehead, wedge the helmets MIPS layer and have a bruise and sore throat from the chin strap. Helmet visor was partly ripped off, hole in my right glove, hole in my left jacket shoulder and my top underneath but no mark on me there. Importantly, the bike looks fine, I think it had a nice padded soft landing (on me). Minor injuries removed the remaining gravel they could spot. My lip is a lovely size and I'm scaring the neighbours with the ooze from the facial wound. Yesterdays trip to Hamsterly was eventful.
